CNC Tool Crib Attendant – WA

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:  The duties of the Tool Crib Attendant include but are not limited to:

 

  • Set up tools off of the hot list daily both in the morning and afternoon.
  • Primary back up to stage hot list, as well as reviewing the queues for set ups and stage next jobs per machine when machine shop supervisor is gone.
  • Replace any broken tools that are in immediate use daily, and as quickly as they come to you.
  • Breakdown extra tools and remove extra tools from the machine racks daily. Each machine should have 1 tool cart at the machine for their next job and to tear down/ return job to the tool crib.
  • Put away old tooling and add tooling locations to new jobs daily keeping the system organized and up to date.
  • Process the receiving of hardware and cutters.
  • Mark new cutters with proper radius when received and/or pulled out of machines.
  • Prepare purchase order requisitions for emergent and legacy tools as needed, reviewing previous order if necessary.
  • Organize and maintain the organization of the Tool Crib and Tooling Storage Area.
  • Wax-dip used cutters when tearing down jobs and catalogue them accordingly in tool cabinet. Keep up on cutter stock as needed.
  • Do the purchasing request for Programmers and source quotes as needed. Obtain sourcing/vendors for cutters with Supervisor approval
  • Grind “Weldon flats” on end mills when needed.
  • Organize tool holders. Add or modify cutter supply in vending cabinet as necessary for shop demand based on supervisor approval
  • Using forklift, dump the chip hoppers and organize materials as needed.
  • Keep broken carbide secure for recycling and crush chip bins as needed

Physical Requirements of the Position:

  • Physical requirements of the position include the ability to push, pull, lift, stack and carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally and with assistance if needed. This position requires standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, climbing (stairs) squatting, reaching and grasping frequently.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Required Experience:

  • 1+ year’s relevant experience in an aerospace manufacturing facility preferred.
  • CNC Machine Shop knowledge preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office and Outlook.

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Candidate must be able to read, write, understand and speak English fluently.
